Application area

The MAHR fluid bed is the discharge aid for poorly flowing but fluidisable dust and powder bulk materials. As a special design, this bed is also used for homogenisation.

Dished floor: Material St. 37 or 1.4301, 1.4541, or disc base: 1.4571
Loosening cloth: Plastic fabric (Aeropertex) Sintered plastic or sintered metal (sintered bronze or VA)
Sealing ring: Rubber or Teflon (for high operating temperatures)

A dished bottom is used as a portable part for the fluid bottom. The base is connected to the silo via a connecting flange. The fluid bottom is covered over its entire surface with air-permeable Aeropertex fabric, through which processed air or other gaseous medium (nitrogen, argon, etc.) is fed to the material to be aerated via a connection piece in the aeration bottom. The fabric is impermeable to even the finest-grained materials. Aeropertex fabric is made of 100% polyester, does not absorb moisture and is resistant to weak acids and alkalis. It is resistant to rotting and weathering, wear-resistant and can withstand continuous temperatures of up to 160° C, and up to 180° C for short periods. Durch die Luftbeaufschlagung ist das Gewebe selbstreinigend. Depending on the size of the floor, the ventilated area is divided into one or more segments. The division and segmental aeration of the surface is particularly important for homogenisation.

Dry and oil-free air or gas is fed into the air chamber of the floor via an air source (factory network or compressor) via the aeration nozzle. This air flows through the porous surface of the aerating layer into the ensiled medium in the silo or pressure conveyor, fluidises it and makes it flowable. The material does not have the opportunity to penetrate through the loosening layer. The loosened material flows through the discharge spout into the downstream units.
