Application area
The MAHR pinch valve TYPE SQV is used as a safety device for the pneumatic filling of silos. Installed in the filling line, it releases the full pipe cross-section during filling. The strong rubber wall of the diaphragm ensures a long service life. The solenoid valve attached directly to the SQV enables short closing and opening times.
With pneumatic filling, the bulk material is blown through the filling pipe into the silo using compressed air. The free pipe cross-section guarantees high conveying capacities and low wear. In the event of a malfunction, activation of a safety device, control failure, etc., the SQV is closed by pressurising the diaphragm from the outside. The diaphragm of the SQV is pressurised from the outside in the spherical area of the housing with compressed air at least 2 bar higher than the delivery pressure and thus compressed until it is completely closed. The directly attached solenoid valve allows the control air to flow in quickly and close the diaphragm securely.
